DELHI – HARIDWAR (230 KM DRIVE / 06 HR)

 Early morning post breakfast at 07:30 Hrs you will drive to Haridwar, it is situated on  the banks of the Ganges River and is considered one of the seven holiest places in  Hinduism. The name "Haridwar" means "Gateway to God," and the city is a major  pilgrimage site for Hindus. Haridwar is known for its ghats, or steps leading down to  the river, which is used for bathing and performing religious ceremonies. The most  famous ghat is Har Ki Pauri, which is believed to be the spot where Lord Vishnu left  his footprint.

IMP: To visit CHARDHAM your vehicle needs a fitness certificate  and permission to visit there. Therefore, upon arrival, your driver will visit the  permission center to complete the permit formalities.

HARIDWAR –BARKOT (200 KM DRIVE/6-7HRS)

Today morning after breakfast, drive to Barkot, en route visiting Lakhamandal,  which is en route to Barkot, situated at 5 kms off road. 

Lakhamandal is a place which is very famous for its Mahabharat Era's relation.  According to legends Pandav used to stay here in the period of Agyatwaas. And the  most important Lakshagriha (Wax house) remains are here. Here is an ancient Hindu  temple (dedicated to lord Shiva) which is very popular among Shakti cult. The temple  is surrounded by beautiful mountains and Yamuna River. Lakhamandal is a mixture of  two words, lakha meaning “Lakhs” and mandal meaning “lingam”. This monument has  been declared to be of national importance under the ancient monuments and  Archaeological sites and remains act, 1958 (24 of 1958). 

After visiting this mesmerizing sight, drive further to Barkot. Upon arrival in  Barkot, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay is at hotel in Barkot. 

Barkot is a small town situated at an elevation of 1,280 m on Mussoorie–Yamunotri  road. It is located at a distance of 128 km from Dehradun and just 49 km en route  Yamunotri. This place provides view of some magnificent mountain ranges. The  mesmerizing view of the peaks of Bandar Poonch which remains snow-capped  throughout the year is sure to remain embedded in your mind forever. The best part is  that, it has pleasant climate round the year and is well connected from all major regions  via surface.”

 BARKOT – YAMUNOTRI -–BARKOT(12 KM TREK /80  KM DRIVE

Today, bit early in the morning drive to JankiChatti. From here start trek to  Yamunotri. Either by walk or by mule or by palanquin on own expenses.

Yamunotri is the source of the sacred river Yamuna that originates from the glacial lake  of SaptarishiKund, at an altitude of 4,421 meters. Dedicated to capricious Goddess  Yamuna, this ancient temple has been a pilgrimage for centuries. Starting at Rishikesh,  the yatra takes the pilgrim through some of the most beautiful panoramas, and  eventually on the 12kilometer arduous trek from Hanuman Chatti that is not merely  visually and physically stimulating but spiritually uplifting. 

After visiting the temple return to hotel in Barkort.

BARKOT – UTTARKASHI (100 KM DRIVE / 4HRS)

 Today morning after breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. En route visits the Shiv Gufa  at Mahargaon. 

Shiv Gufais a naturally formed cave at Mehargaon on the Yamunotri– UttarkashiRoad.  In the cave, one can see a naturally formed Shivling – water naturally falls on top of it  continuously. The Guha also has naturally formed ice sculptors of Shiva, Ganesha,  Trishul, Lotus and Om. The Cave is filled with knee deep water. Only four people can  stand at a time in the cave. You can hear the sounds of water falling in the cave. 

After visiting the cave continue your drive to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check in  at hotel. Overnight is at the hotel in Uttarkashi. In the evening visit Vishwanath  Temple at Uttarkashi town. 

The Viswanath Temple is the most important and ancient holy shrine in this region. Of  the many temples in Uttarkashi, the temple of Lord Vishwanath is unrivalled in  importance. Shiva, the presiding deity of this temple, is worshipped all day here. Every  evening, visitors are greeted by the sound of bells, and the chanting of mantras by  pundits at the puja.Within the courtyard of the Vishwanath temple, and to the front of  it, is the Shakti Temple, dedicated to the goddess of strength. The massive brass trident  projecting from this temple bears an inscription describing how the Vishwanath Temple  was built. According to it, the temple was built by King Ganeshwar, whose son Guh, a  great warrior, built the trident. 26 feet high, this trident's base measures 8 feet 9 inches,  and its top, 18'/2 inches in circumference.

UTTARKASHI–GANGOTRI - UTTARKASHI (200 KM  DRIVE / 08HR)

Today after early breakfast, drive to Gangotri. En route you may take a holy dip  in the hot water Gangnanikund. Later drive further to Gangotri.  GANGOTRI TEMPLE: It is the highest and the most important temple of Goddess  Ganga. Gangotri is a small town centered on the Gangotri Temple of Goddess Ganga.  The present temple of Gangotri was built by Amar Singh Thapa, Gorkha General in  the early 18th century. The origin of Bhagirathi River, Gaumukh glacier is 18kms from  Gangotri and one must cover the distance on foot. Gangotri offers scenic vistas of 

rugged terrains, gushing water of Bhagirathi River and snow clad peaks. The place holds  great importance amongst Hindus 

After visiting Gangori temple return to Uttarakashi. On the way enjoy picturesque Harshil Village,  Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of Himalayas.  

HARSILis an unspoiled and hidden jewel of Uttarakhand state, situated in a picturesque  valley inhabited by the Bhotia Tribes at an altitude of around 2620 meters. It is located  at a distance of 75 km from Uttarkashi and 25 Km from Gangotri on Uttarkashi – Gangotri road. The Temperature of Harsil remains pleasant during summers and  reaches the freezing point during winters. The Bhagirathi River serves as an ideal  companion for this sleepy town. (Subject to time permits) 

Continue your drive to Uttarakashi.

UTTARKASHI–SONPRAYAG (DRIVE 220 KM / 08 HRS)

Early morning post breakfast will drive to Sonprayag en-route will visit to Lord  Vishwanath Temple (Subject to time permitted), the last point upto the place your  vehicle can reach. Upon arrival in Sonprayag, check in at your hotel. 

SONPRAYAG, situated at an elevation of 1829 m is famous a site where Lord Shiva  and Goddess Parvati were married. Flanked by nature's bounty and glorious  snowcapped peaks, it is also a place where River Mandakini meets River Basuki. It is a  belief that devotees can achieve Baikunt Dham with the touch of water.

SONPRAYAG–GOURIKUND - KEDARNATH (10 KM  DRIVE & 18 KM TREK)

Today early morning will drive to reach to Gaurikund, your driver will assist you and  from Gaurikund will start our trek to Kedarnath. Since it is long 18 km trek which  normally takes -6-7 hours depending upon your speed. 

KEDARNATH: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a  scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is  another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legend, the 

Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of  having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a  bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The  remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped  there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the  belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and  the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar. On arrival at Kedarnath,  will check in at the hotel.  

Later will proceed for a visit to the Kedarnath Baba temple and also visit Adi  Shankaracharya Samadhi, 

(Any expenses related to VIP darshan; prayer, Pony and Jeep rides will be paid  by the guests only)

KEDARNATH–GAURIKUND- SONPRAYAG – CHOPTA (18 KM TREK & 70-80 KM DRIVE)

In the morning at 6 AM will trek DOWN to Gaurikund. Upon arrival in Gaurikund  will further drive to Sonprayag to board the local jeep and drive to Triyugi Narayan  Temple, the temple dedicated to the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. (The  cost will be extra for visiting Triyuginarayan Temple by local Jeep as per the  actual). Further we will drive to Chopta in route visiting to Ukhimath (Subject  to time permit) 

Check-in at the hotel.

Chopta-Tungnath-Badrinath

In the morning post breakfast we will trek to Tungnath temple.  Tungnath is a Hindu temple located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India.  It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the Panch Kedar temples, which are  considered to be the five most important shrines of Lord Shiva in the region. Tungnath  is located at an altitude of 3,680 meters above sea level and is the highest Shiva temple  in the world. The temple is situated on the Tungnath mountain range, which is a part  of the Garhwal Himalayas. The trek to Tungnath is a challenging one, but is also  considered to be very rewarding.

After the complete visit we will drive to Badrinath.

Badrinath - Narsingh Temple - Kalpeshewar–Rudraprayag  (160Km/7-8Hrs)

BADRINATH: One of the 'Four Dhams' and one of the most celebrated pilgrimage  spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either  side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth  Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild  berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries . Today  morning after Badrinath Temple Darshan, drive to Rudraprayag, En-route visit to Narsingh Temple  Joshimath. Narsingh Temple is the winter home for the Badri Vishal Lord Vishnu. Next we will  visit KALPESHWAR: one of the fifth temple in the list of Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit,  Kalpeshwar is the only temple among the sacred Panch Kedar temples that remains open throughout  the year. The matted hairs of Lord Shiva are worshipped inside this temple. The Panch Kedar trail  ends at Kalpeshwar (Kalpnath. Further will continue our drive to DharaDevi Temple.

 RUDRAPRAYAG – RISHIKESH

Morning after breakfast we will drive to Rishikesh. 

Upon arrival in Rishikesh will visit to Ram Jhula & Laxmian Jhula (Swinging bridge /  subject to operational), 450 meter long bridge is built in 1939 and it’s around at height  of 70 feet from the river. We will also visit to Tera Manzil Temple, this 13-storey temple  is clearly visible from the Lakshman Jhula and by evening will attend the Ganga aarti.

RISHIKESH - DELHI (Drive 260 KM / 6-7 HRS)

Morning post breakfast in the hotel will drive to Delhi. On arrival, you will proceed to  visit Lutyen’s Delhi and drive pass to India Gate which was built in the year 1931 to  commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in World War I & and the Afghan Wars,  and President House, the official residence of President of India, formally known as the viceroy’s house during British rule. Next will visit to Rajghat (Gandhi memorial) and  one of the most popular temple Lotus Temple.

DELHI DEPARTURE

Morning breakfast will check out and proceed for full day local market for shopping.  After shopping departure transfer airport to boar flight for next destination.  Our tour concludes: SafeHands Travels thank you for your patronage and  ensures a punctual transfer to the Airport for onward travel.
